TIME2LINK

World ME & FM Prayer & Meditation Day

History .....

The concept for the World M.E. & F.M. Prayer and Meditation Day ('time2link') was 'received' by the founder during August 2007 and swiftly followed by the inauguration of the event on Monday 7 September 2007.

News of the time2link gradually began to travel within the UK and Eire, to support groups, charities and message boards, thanks to an e-mail awareness campaign and word of mouth. Support from organisations including Action for ME, the ME Association, the Fibromyalgia Association & regional charities and support groups, assisted with awareness creation.

In November 2007 the time2link blog was launched, followed by the official website in January 2008. It was at this crucial stage of development that the awareness campaign crossed the water to reach numerous organisations and support groups worldwide. Media coverage from organisations in Australia and New Zealand, the USA, Canada, and northern Europe helped to make the time2link a truly international network.

The Founder's story

The founder of the event, Suzanne Olivante, lives in the United Kingdom and for the past 15 years has lived in the county of East Sussex, in southern England. Home for Suzanne is a seaside resort, nestled among the picturesque Sussex South Downs (see pics below). Prayer and meditation are an integral part of her daily life and health management 'toolkit', which she enjoys and finds great benefit from.

The idea for this event was handed to Suzanne during prayer, as a gift for the global M.E. & F.M. community. Having endured a decade of various illnesses and exhausted from trying hard to recover and find a cure, Suzanne surrendered her dilemma to God and asked for guidance. Her prayer was answered immediately and the wonderful work of organising this prayer link was offered to her.

"When my answer came, it was like downloading the concept in a split second" Suzanne says "I instantly knew that I was being called upon to create this prayer and meditation link and it just felt so right. I heard the name of the event, the time it would take place and felt filled with Divine inspiration....a kind of brand name for the event was also included as part of the concept, which has since become the event's nickname: the 'time2link'. My prayer was not answered in a way that I had anticipated at all, but I knew that I had come to a crossroads within my long journey and that this was the next stage for me....to create a worldwide link and for those living with these chronic illneses and their carers to unite and help one another, in a minds-on rather than hands-on way. An opportunity for everyone to give and receive, no matter whether they are
bed-bound or recovering, we can all benefit from connecting to this global support network."

The Facts

The word M.E. has been used within the full, official title of the event and throughout the website, rather than C.F.S. Suzanne feels the term Chronic Fatigue Syndrome does not accurately reflect the myriad of symptoms experienced by PwME and can lead to a lack of understanding from non sufferers. The World M.E. & F.M. Prayer and Meditation Day will continue indefinitely; for as long as the respective health conditions continue to exist.

With the event appealing to folk from differing religious or spiritual 'paths' both the website and the blog are presented in such a way as to welcome and include everyone in a loving and accepting way. It is understandable that a proportion of visitors introduced to the concept of the time2link, may feel dis-harmony toward its multi-faith nature and may feel dis-inclined to participate. However, with the actual linking time being free for participants to enjoy according to their individual beliefs, it is suggested that the views of fellow time2linkers, can simply be acknowledged as a different coloured thread, within the fabric of an event with a loving purpose.

The time2link is a non-profit event and this website is powered by Webs.com, which enabled the site to be built cost free. The banner advertisements on the site are part of the cost free deal and are not endorsed by the founder. Any links, videos, non-time2link events featured, are included for information or support purposes only and do not necessarily reflect the views of the founder or views held by participants of the event.

The construction of the Directories within the site are rather a labour of love for the Founder, who takes great pleasure from the study of world traditions; via self directed rather than academic study.  Suzanne enjoys sharing her discoveries on the time2link blog, via the monthly calendar on the News & Events page and through the creation of the Multi-Faith Directory, which is an ongoing project.
